TED Aliağa College , built in 6800 m2 of enclosed and open area and adjacent to a pine tree forest, provides the best education environment for its students with its large garden and facilities. The school is located south-west of Aliağa, which is in the north of İzmir. The campus has: Primary School Building with 20 Classrooms, 2 Science Laboratories, 1 Cinevision Room, 2 Arts Rooms, 1 Library and 1 Music Room. High School Building with14 classrooms, Physics, Biology and Chemistry Laboratories, 1 Computer Studies Room, 1 Meeting &Seminar Room and also a room allocated for Foreign Languages Teaching.The classes have (average) 24 students. School Cafeteria which can meet the necessities of 250 people seated but up to 1000 people can benefit from it. School Canteen which can serve a variety of food up to 50 people seated. TEAM BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP SEMINAR Our teachers have prepared not only the lesson plans and academic calendar but they have also prepared and motivated themselves for the new year. On Sepetmber…… , 2011 they attended a seminar and a workshop about “Team Building & Leadership in Schools”. The seminar was given by the sociologist Gül KIRÇIL, who is the founder of Sekoya Consulting Company. While all the teachers were having great fun through the workshop activities, they all refreshed themselves about some important social skills such as personal encouragement, business dymanics, team work and how to be creative. They were all admired for their voluntariness and willingness by her .

The seminar organized by the Turkish Education Association of Foreign Language Coordinator and provided by Kristina Smith under differents topics such as “C lassroom Observation , Giving Feedback, Trainer Language , Peer Observations and Micro-teaching”

The seminar program, named as ELT Programmes, Methods and Techniques” organized by the Turkish Education Association and Ministery of Turkish Education for the teachers working at state school in İzmir took place at Kestelli Şerife Eczacıbaşı Primary school with the participation of 200 teachers between October 10-14 . During this programme Neslihan MAYATÜRK, our Head of English Department and teacher trainer, worked with four different groups on different topics which are about “Classroom Management”, “Ice-Breakers & Warmers” ve “Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar”. 200 teachers participated in the sessions and workshops They could also have a chance to share their common problems and experiences.

Our English teachers are all given the opportunity to improve themselves both personally and academically through regular meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops . These activities are provided and organised by Turkish Education Association so that teachers can have the chance to come together with the teachers from other TED Schools and share their experience. |

High School English Teachers joined an in-service training on November 27 with 67 English teachers of other TED Schools organised by Turkish Education Association and hosted by TED Ankara College. It was about the techniques that can be used in English lessons to prepare students for interdependence and excellence in Higher Education and afterwards.The training was given by Denise Özdeniz who works for Pearson Publishing as a teacher trainer and an instructor at Sabancı University. |
