American Mathematics Competition 8

A new experience , a new horizon for TED ALİAĞA COLLEGE 8th Graders…

November 15, 2011 is an important date because it is the date when our students in Grade 8 have had an international mathematics competition which is called AMC 8 (American Mathematics Competition 8) and will also determine the team who will compete in t he International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

The administration of the contest took place in the school by following all the rules as stated and our 10 students participated in the competition with their great effort and represented TED Aliağa College successfully. The test contains 25 multiple-choice questions. This competition has been organized since 1985 by Mathematical Association of America (MAA) with the participation of more than 150 thousands students from 2342 different schools around the world.

Our students have found the 2011 AMC 8 an excellent learning experience. The results are expected to be received before the holiday break and will identify students with exceptional mathematical ability.

Other levels of AMC 8 are carried out with the names of AMC 10 and AMC 12 of which results are important criteria for the admission to many universities around the world.
